Council Information
The St. Maximilian Kolbe Council meets at the St. Maximilian Kolbe Church in Scarborough, Maine, at 150 Black Point Road. The Grand Knight for 2007-2008 is Gary Miller. You can contact him at 207-883-9425, or send him an email at g1miller@verizon.net.

Knights of Columbus are Catholic gentlemen committed to the exemplification of charity, unity, fraternity, patriotism, and defense of the priesthood. The Order was founded on March 29, 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney and is consecrated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Order is unequivocal in its loyalty to the Pope, the Vicar of Christ on earth. It is firmly committed to the protection of human life, from conception to natural death, and to the preservation and defense of the family. It was on these bedrock principles that the Order was founded over a century ago and remains true to them today.

Council Meetings
The general council meetings are on the second Thursday of the month at the Church in the double classroom, Rooms 6 and 7, starting at 7 PM.  The council officers meetings are on the fourth Thursday of the month.

About Our Council
The St. Maximilian Kolbe Council was founded on March 29, 1996, the 114th anniversary of the founding of the Knights of Columbus, and currently has 85 members.  It is named after St. Maximilian Kolbe who was a Franciscan Priest and Martyr (1894-1941). The Council works closely with the Church Parish, providing funds for various projects, and its members are active participants in their parish.
