In accord with Diocesan
regulations, all weddings must be scheduled at least six months in advance.
2.
Weddings may be
celebrated on Friday evenings no later that 7:00 p.m. and on Saturdays at 10:00

promptly at the time scheduled.

spouses must obtain:
a. a recently
issued certificate of Baptism
b. a certificate of First Communion
c. a certificate of Confirmation
4. The
wedding rehearsal is usually held the night before at a time agreed upon by the
priest and couple. It is the responsibility of the couple to inform all those
in the wedding party to be on time for the rehearsal. Before the
rehearsal, the couple should have a definite plan for the order of the wedding
procession (e.g. the first usher will
be..., the second usher will be...; the first bridesmaid will be..., the second
bridesmaid will be..., etc.).
5 Music
must be appropriate to the Sacred Liturgy. You are encouraged to contact the
parish Music Director. However, the couple is free to choose other musicians
and soloists.
6. If
altar servers are desired, it is the responsibility of the couple to provide
them.
7. No
flowers or ornaments of any kind may be placed on the altar itself, but in the
sanctuary area on the floor. No rose petals, rice, bird seed, etc. can
be thrown either in the Church or on the grounds.
8. Each
couple must participate in some form of Pastoral marriage preparation (Engaged
Encounter, Pre-Cana classes, Evenings for the Engaged, etc.) before the
wedding.
9. A
couple may have any priest they wish to perform the wedding ceremony. It is the
responsibility of the couple to contact the priest they wish to celebrate their
wedding ceremony. The offering or gift to the visiting priest is a personal
matter of the couple and is not related to the charge for the use of the
Church explained in Regulation #10.
10 The
fee for the use of the Church/Chapel is $200.00 for registered parishioners or
members of their immediate families (son, daughter). For anyone not registered
nor contributing member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish at the time
of scheduling a wedding, the fee will $350.00. This is
not an offering, a donation or a gift. Checks are to be made payable to: St. Maximilian
Kolbe Parish. Payment MUST accompany the return of this signed form to
assure the reserved date. The honorarium for a visiting clergyman invited
by the couple to perform the ceremony or participate in it, is the
responsibility of the couple.
11. Within
two weeks of the wedding, two items are to be brought to the Parish Office:
a. the license
b. the selection sheet for prayers and readings
12. If the receiving line after the wedding
ceremony is held in the Narthex of the Church, the Bride and Groom are to stand
near the doors leading into the hall, not just inside the Narthex
near the doors that lead into the Church.
I have read and understand all the
above regulations concerning weddings at St. Maximilian Kolbe.
