Worship & Spirituality Commission

MISSION STATEMENT

The worship and spirituality commission actively supports and nurtures Worship (the expression of spirituality through public and private prayer) and Spirituality (one’s own personal relationship with Christ) at St. Maximilian Kolbe by:

  • Developing a genuine understanding of our parish and of our parish family’s worship needs.

  • Creating a dynamic worship environment that balances contemplation and activity.

  • Presenting opportunities for private and community prayer.

  • Encouraging diversity and individuality in worship.

  • Presenting new paths while honoring traditional approaches to prayer and worship.

  • Coordinating programs and activities with, and in support of, other commissions.

  • Remaining clearly centered upon the mission and goals of St. Maximilian Kolbe Parish.

Worship Ministers are those members of our parish family who assist in making worship at St. Max a faith-filled and inspiring experience.  They serve our parish in a variety of ways.   Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Ushers, Greeters and Altar Servers are Worship Ministers.  All choir members, outreach ministers (hospital, hospice, nursing homes, prisons, jails and retirement communities) and members of the committees of the Worship and Spirituality Commission are also Worship Ministers.
